Jos Loeff, Senior Advisor, has worked for the Commission of the European Communities from 1958 to 1989.
From 1977 to 1989, he was Deputy Director-General of Directorate-General I and responsible for the conception and application of all instruments of commercial policy, and, in various phases, the EU relations with the United States, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, the Far East, and with all developing countries in Latin America and Asia.
Previous positions held by Mr Loeff in the European Commission include Deputy Director-General and Acting Director-General of Directorate-General III, Director in Directorate-General I, Head of the Delegation for the negotiation and conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement with Portugal, and Association Agreements with Spain, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Malta, Cyprus and Israel. He was further Head of Cabinet of Mr Sassen, then-Commissioner with special responsibility for competition policy.
Mr Loeff is presently honorary Director-General of and Special Adviser to the Commission of the European Communities and Adviser to the International Chamber of Commerce. |
