Anne Vallery has practiced EU competition and regulatory law, in particular electronic communications, in Brussels since 1996. She has litigated numerous cases before the European Commission, the European Courts, the national competition authorities and Brussels courts and other national courts.

Professional Experience
Ms. Vallery is a tutor at the Institut d’Etudes Européennes, Université Libre de Bruxelles, where she teaches EU competition law and procedure.
Since January 1999, Ms. Vallery has been a member of the Editing Board (secretary) of the Cahiers de Droit Européen, a journal dedicated to EC Law.

Recent Highlights
Cartel investigations and litigation: Ms. Vallery has been involved in major cartel investigations by the European Commission and the US antitrust authorities. She has argued appeals against cartel decisions before the EU Courts. Representative cartel work includes the following cartel investigations: Soda Ash, Cement, Vitamins, Belgian banks, Parcel Tankers, Chloroprene Rubber, Emulsion Styrene Butadiene Rubber, NBR, Flat Glass, LCD.
Abuse of dominance: She represents clients before the European Commission and the EU Courts defending them against allegations of abusive practices, e.g. exclusionary conduct, in particular rebates, margin squeeze or refusal to supply. She has also been involved in abuse cases before the national Courts.
State aid: She advises and assists beneficiaries and competitors in State aid investigations. She very recently assisted a leading financial services group in its challenge of one of the most massive State interventions in favour of the financial sector in proceedings before the European Commission and the CFI, which raised complex and novel legal issues.
Damages litigation: Ms Vallery currently represents a client in a damages litigation against a dominant company for abusive pricing practices.
Arbitration: She recently assisted a client who faced claims of abuses of dominant position and of cartel behaviour in a commercial dispute in an ICC arbitration in Sweden.
Telecommunications: Ms. Vallery represents a major telecommunications operator in national litigation and before the European Courts, in proceedings before the European Commission and the telecommunications regulator and provides counseling on various regulatory and competition law issues, such as interconnection, roaming, call termination, mobile access and other price regulation.
