Edwin Vermulst has practiced international trade and EC law and policy in Washington DC and Brussels since 1985 and is a founding member of the law firm. He is a member of the Brussels bar.

Expertise
Mr. Vermulst specializes in the representation of multinationals, trade associations, exporters and importers in EC, third country and WTO TDI and customs proceedings, for example, in the recent anti-dumping proceedings involving Footwear, Steel, Silicon metal, Citric acid, Bags, Ironing boards and Polyester staple fibres. He was a WTO Panellist in Mexico-High Fructose Corn Syrup from the US, and has been involved in WTO dispute settlement proceedings as a member of the delegation, most recently in EC-Certain customs matters. He has been involved in landmark court cases involving the EU cap and trade system and advises trade associations and companies on EU environmental and other regulatory issues.
Publications
Mr. Vermulst has (co-)authored eight books, including landmark comparative analyses of the anti-dumping systems of Australia, Canada, the EC and the United States with Professor John Jackson in 1989 and of rules of origin with Jacques Bourgeois and Paul Waer in 1994, and numerous articles. His latest book on the WTO Anti-Dumping Agreement was published by Oxford University Press in 2007. The publications listed at the bottom of this page can be downloaded.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of World Trade and the Global Trade and Customs Journal and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Legal Issues of European Integration.
Honours
Mr. Vermulst is invariably selected as a leading trade practitioner by publications such as Who’s Who in Trade, Chambers Global, Legal 500, Euromoney and the Rushford Report.
Mr Vermulst has been invited as a guest speaker on many occasions.
Teaching
He is a Member of the Faculty of the World Trade Institute in Bern and of the IELPO program in Barcelona and a member of the Board of ECIPE, the European Centre for International Political Economy.
